St Crispins Road Underpass (filled in)
It used be one of the main pedestrian connections from the north city and Anglia Square to the city centre, going beneath the inner ring road.
Many people felt unsafe using the underpass so would not use it, in fact I have a friend who once got ‘started on’ when he walked through it. It used to stink of urine and often had homeless people sleeping in it.
If i ever had to cross that road late at night I would usually hop over the railing and cross the road above ground.
The new crossing makes it so much nicer to cross the road. That being said I still kind of miss the old underpass.
