(21) 2 Redwell Street Undercroft

The building above the undercroft dates from the nineteenth century is used as offices.
The undercroft was built in the fifteenth century and is of brick construction. It consists of 2 bays with diagonal and cross ribs, wall arches and a long pointed barrel vault end chamber extending beneath the Redwell Street pavement. There is an open corridor with small cross ribs that extends along the length of the south side of the undercroft. The end ribs turn diagonally and could reflect one of the fifteenth century entry arrangements.
It is currently used for storage and is not open to the public.
