Dragon Hall Undercroft

Dragon Hall Undercroft –┬áDRAGON HALL KING STREET

Dragon Hall is a unique, Grade 1 listed medieval trading hall dating from around 1430, renowned for its spectacular timber crown-post roof and intricately carved and painted dragon.

The undercroft dates from the mid fifteenth century and it is likely that Robert Toppes ordered this to be built.

It is rib-vaulted and consists of two bays of unequal size. Two side-chambers in the undercroft have pointed barrel vaults that extended under the pavement of King Street. It was used to store goods

It is open to visit when the museum is open.
