NUMBER 46 ST GILES STREET
The house above the undercroft was built in the early 19th century and was for some years owned by the YMCA.
It has recently been sold for conversion to housing.
Beneath the building and partly destroyed by the 19th century cellar are the remains of a 15th century brick built undercroft on the street line.
The wall contains two brick arched recesses and each of them contains a lamp niche. One of them extends beneath the pavement. Access is from inside the building and through the 19th century cellar.
