NUMBER 67A TO C AND 68 THE CLOSE
Formerly the organist’s house this is now divided into school buildings and houses. It dates from the 15th century with 17th century alterations.

Beneath this building is a medieval vaulted undercroft with 4 pointed barrel- vaulted side chambers, each 2-3 metres deep and each with a lamp niche in the rear wall.
They extend partly beneath the pavement. They are constructed of brick with flint walls.
Differences in construction of the vaults and different designs for the lighting niches in the rear wall suggest at least 3 different phases of construction.
The buildings were originally probably used by the monastery’s cellarer.
